Located in Vancouver’s mixed-use Railtown district, HAVEN is a fashion and lifestyle boutique focused on timeless utilitarian menswear with references to technical gear and urban streetwear. In our second project for the brand, we embrace the minimal palette of bare exposed concrete, concrete block, black steel finishes, natural oak, and soft white. Strategically placed mirrors bring light and exterior scenes through the long rectangular plan, drawing visitors through to the back of the store where there are expansive views of downtown Vancouver, the North Shore Mountains, and one of the region’s largest container terminals and railyards; the perfect backdrop for the brand’s blend of urban and technical performance clothing. The store is designed for ultimate flexibility and is future-proofed with a modular system for altering and dividing the space for different functions from time to time.

Existing store fixtures from the now-closed Gastown location were repurposed as the sustainable choice, with a new perimeter system to seamlessly integrate with the existing store elements. Modular display fixtures were designed and fabricated by local designer Ko Júbilo.
